In my first real career-oriented job almost 35 years ago, I was a copywriter for the bicycle manufacturer Cannondale. I pounded out my (admittedly crappy) copy on an IBM Selectric Typewriter. As we di...
Hi, Paul,
Welcome to this forum (if you haven't been here before). Here are a few suggestions for you that I think you missed:

Info Select 10: New Version 10.00.106
2/27/2015
I've always had a soft spot for InfoSelect. I used to use it seriously about ten years ago, but the updates seemed to make it worse, not better, so I didn't upgrade after being dissatisfied with 2007....
Mac Envy
2/26/2015
An interesting question, and one I've often wondered about.
While there are many more Windows computers than Macs, I'd guess that 90% or more of those are business computers where the operators have ...
Updated to Yosemite
2/17/2015
Okay. I need to eat a little crow here. I am finding that I actually like the new look and feel of Yosemite. Not exactly sure why. The colors are pleasing to me. The simple graphics sort of get out of...
Ulysses for iPad shaping up nicely...
2/12/2015
Just speaking for myself, the advantages of Ulysses and Scrivener go way beyond any markdown capabilities, though they both handle markdown nicely -- Ulysses especially is built around markdown as an ...
Quiver for Mac gets a hefty update
2/12/2015
I've gone ahead and purchased this very reasonably priced license for Quiver. So far I'm impressed with its elegance. It is inviting to use. The way a note has cells, which can contain different style...
Updated to Yosemite

Thanks for the responses, Hugh, Franz and Paul. Think I'll hold off activating iCloud Drive for the time being.

Updated to Yosemite
2/9/2015
I couldn't agree more, Hugh, that these "major" operating system upgrades should not be necessary. Just fix what doesn't work right, tighten up the code (or whatever it is programmers do) to speed thi...
Updated to Yosemite
2/8/2015
(This is off topic, but I at least yanked it out of the Ulysses thread, where it kind of didn't belong.)
I did, indeed, bite the bullet and have updated both my four-year-old MacBook and my one-year-...
Thanks, Paul. Always good to get a report from one of our crew here. I'll probably have to bite the bullet and upgrade.
Steve Z.
For me that's good news and bad news. The bad news is that it will require OS 10.10, which I am not too eager to use, frankly.

Thanks to my friends on this forum for coming to my defense.
I must admit it took me a while to figure out what the beef is that 22111 has with me. But I finally realized he or she is upset, apparen...
Organizing lots of thought snippets
1/26/2015
Your dilemma reminds me of my own problems using a straight outline system to manage a lot of notes. It works great at first, but soon the spreading hierarchy gets overwhelming to me. For random, non-...
What is Tinderbox? Interesting summary
1/21/2015
As an addendum: I just looked at the new Getting Started with Tinderbox help resource, and it turns out to be far more extensive than I expected. It is a 114-page PDF. Quite a robust document that I i...
What is Tinderbox? Interesting summary
1/21/2015
As it turns out, there is an update of Tinderbox available. This version includes a new introductory feature. Per Mark Bernstein:
"Tinderbox 6.1.3 includes a brand-new Help menu item, Getting Started...
What is Tinderbox? Interesting summary
1/19/2015
(Thanks for the nice comments, Hugh.)
That evaluation of Tinderbox is interesting and helpful. I have a completely different point of view (and that's the operable wording... it's just MY point of vi...
Thanks, Bill. I'll check Asana out.

Alexander, et. al.,
Any updates to this thread. Our small agency just hired a new executive director who will be working remotely. It would be helpful, though not crucial, to find a cloud-based team ...
Black Hole Organizer on Bitsdujour today (2nd January 2015) - USD 4.95 instead of USD 24.95
1/5/2015
Black Hole organizer seems like a pretty adept information manager. I picked up a license a few years ago (don't remember how... probably a Bits du Jour promo). I haven't used it before, but it has so...
Adding Hugh and Dr Andus to my list of thank yous. It is very gratifying to know that people whose intellect and knowledge I admire find my blog useful. A nice way to start the new year!
Steve Z.
Thank you, Franz, Paul and Bob. I appreciate the supportive comments.
And 22111, have a nice day.

Welcome to the forum. If anyone can help you, it's this group.
If I may, it seems like your requirements boil down to this: Ability to create outlines in a single pane with the look and feel of a wor...

I recently bought a ClamCase bluetooth keyboard for my iPad Air, and so ...
