Tree for MacOS

...that is, I meant to write, the versatility of TREESHEETS is pretty impressive. Gotta stop writing these posts first thing in the morning!

I meant to add, but got too eager to use the "post" button, that the versatility of Tree as demonstrated in your screenshots is pretty impressive.

Tree for MacOS
7/19/2011
From my experience, Tree is unmatched for the ability to mix-and-match how the outline/diagram is displayed. In this screenshot, I've got the Moons of Mars expanded horizontally, and the Moon of the E...
Tree for MacOS

FWIW, my review of Tree is now posted at Mac Appstorm. If you're interested, you can find it here:

Writng-Keeping versions straight

I haven't used it, but Edwin's Writing Outliner purports to have a revision control function. You might give it a try. See here:

Noteliner adds tables
7/6/2011
Jim,
You can move notes up and down the outline, but the process is a little obscure until you learn what it is (I didn't know it until I e-mailed the developer a few minutes ago so I could respond t...
Noteliner adds tables
7/5/2011
Hi, Daly,
Glad to add some details. So far I've used Noteliner primarily as an outlining application and have not taken much advantage of its task- and day-management features, but as it continues to...
Tree for MacOS

It is coincidental that you mention Tree as I'm supposed to be working on a review for Mac Appstorm. I say supposed to be, because I haven't had the time to get to it over the past few weeks, but I ho...
Noteliner adds tables
7/3/2011
Noteliner is one of my favorite applications for Windows. In fact, it is so good, I wish Sam would do a version for Macs.
The table feature is interesting. At first it looks as if an entire table is...
Excellent, thoughtful post, Daly. And thanks for the mention!
I've become a bit of a morning person in recent years. Not from choice, but when I got married three years ago, my wife's dowery included...
Word Perfect Lightning

Daly,
It is weird that you asked this just now, as I downloaded and installed Lightning just yesterday! I'd tried it before, but was curious about how it may have evolved. I couldn't find any way to ...

New BrainStorm

JB,
Don't know if you're looking for constructive criticism, but I'm offering it anyway. That video is too long, and you make the error of assuming viewers have a basic understanding of how BrainStor...
Qiqqa and Devonthink
6/17/2011
Well, for PDFs maybe. But DevonThink handles virtually any file, where Qiqqa only appears to handle PDFs. Good for scholars, maybe less useful for the rest of us.

What is the URL you're looking at? When I try to go to the www.brainstormsw.com site, it bounces me to this

where I end up with an "Internet Exp...
GS-Base
6/16/2011
For the money, GS-Base is a nice database. I've got a copy on my office PC. For me, the biggest drawback, and why I can't really use it, is that it does not adequately print mailing labels. It has the...
What you are describing sounds very similar to the way Zoot worked before its recent update. Plain text files with delimited field headings in the body of the note, which could also be displayed in ta...
Hardware CRIMP?

Just to make my own clarification, I am not implying that anyone buying a Kindle is subverting the world of publishing. I just want to make sure the fine alternative to the Kindle does not get short s...

Let's not forget there is a new option from Barnes & Noble, the new Nook:

Hardware CRIMP?

Sorry if it sounded as if I was trying to tell you what would work for you. I don't like to do that. I was just daydreaming, based upon thinking about where the thread was going!

Hardware CRIMP?

If it were me, rather than carrying around and paying for an iPad and a netbook, I'd just go with the 11" MacBook Air. Close to the same cost, no Windows operating system to deal with. Practically the...

Software for Authors

Okay, I keep waiting for someone to chime in by saying they prefer a goose quill and parchment; or, better yet, stone tablets and chisels!
Give me a laptop computer with a nice keyboard any day! I've...
