I should add that UR is free after you pay for it and send in the mail in rebate form. I have never used this service, so I can't say how it works.

Hi, all.
I was just checking out Bits du Jour today and say this little notice that UR would be free the next three days. Here's the link:

ActionOutline at 'bitsdujour'

It has been some time since I tried it, but I was always impressed by its clean interface and solid feel, so I think your characterization of an elegant, minimalist 2-pane outliner is correct. Not wor...
There are others on this forum with more knowledge of this than I am, but in case they don't check in for a day or two I'll answer with what I know, which is that I think ADM is defunct, and has been ...
Ms. Julie,
Thanks for the mention. It's the high point of my modest blogging career.

Tinderbox 5 is out

Chris,
Thanks for the heads up. I bought a Tinderbox license last spring, dabbled with the program through the summer, then decided to make it my personal note-taker of choice (for home us, not busin...
ThinkSheet

Yes, I can see that ThinkSheet very much seems like a graphic version of Brainstorm, but it is also very much like a crude version of Tinderbox, although ThinkSheet has one mode that TB does not have,...

I just took a look at doing this with AskSam 7. It works and retains much of the formatting, except for tables, unfortunately. So the hunt continues.

Alexander,
I just tried to do this kind of import in Zoot 6, but apparently the function is not yet activated. There is a file menu item for importing, and it allows you to select a file to import, b...
BTW, I haven't tried this with Zoot 6 yet, and if you use Zoot 5, of course, you will lose your formatting.
Steve
Hi, Alexander,
If I correctly interpreting what you are looking for, I think you will find that Zoot can do this just fine. It will work especially well if each of the new extracted documents already...

I'm not sure if it satisfies all your requirements, Graham, but maybe take a look at Achieve Planner:

Well, there's tech-geeky and outliner-geeky, and I would have to concede that the outliner-geeky award probably belongs to MaxThink, with Tao on the Mac a close second!
MaxThink was originally a DOS ...
Nice question!
For the Mac, I'd say Tinderbox is probably the most geeky PIM/outliner. Although I say that advisedly, as I'm really enjoying it and I'm not very geeky (at least not in tech terms: i.e...
