Gingko Desktop update
7/20/2018
It's a lovely program to write in, although as remarked already, it could do with a lot more options!
The search function is really a filter function (it finds stuff, but doesn't highlight it; found ...

Yes, looking very stable so far. I did notice a minor bug when I first started testing it a couple of days ago, but stupidly forgot to note it down and can't now replicate it (probably a good thing!)....
But Notebooks *does* handle images, and treats PDFs as embedded files (i.e. you can search and view them seamlessly).
However, I have to say that for me (i.e. working on macOS), FoxTrot is one of the...

Talking of InfoRapid KnowledgeBaseBuilder, I'm amused to find that the macOS version is still being developed and is now up to version 6.5!
And a remarkably powerful piece of software it is, too. I'v...

That's a nice idea. I can't see everybody remembering to do what you're suggesting, but in principle I like it!
MacJournal

Hm, yes, it appears to be older than I thought (2016, to be precise).
And yes, I've had precisely the same 100%-crash record whenever I try to change icons (for either journals or entries).
But I ha...

And finally, it has a whole bunch of formatting tricks I normally associate with programmers' text editors in a special "Clean Up" menu, including
- removal of multiple spaces (turning them into one ...

Yup, that was my understanding.
You can also instantly import web pages (as well as any other kind of file) by printing them to MacJournal - it automatically creates a suitable entry for Safari.
And...

Oh, and encryption, too.

Good grief! I hadn't realised just how powerful MacJournal is!
You can effectively use it as a full-scale info management app. There's rich text and markdown, tagging, templates, "smart" journals (= ...
I would recommend Notebooks like a shot, if the desktop versions weren't so much less powerful than the iOS version. Alfons has been working on a new version for a long time now, but news has become a...

Hi Peter,
I tend to agree with Paul that you're attempting a high price for an unproven product, especially single-platform. You could end up being very frustrated.
On the other hand, a 2-week test ...

Another rather impressive online option is RexPad (https://www.rexpad.com), which appears to be maturing nicely.
I'd love to see offline apps (desktop and mobile), myself, but it's a great proof of ...

Excellent suggestions by Paul - can't think of anything better or additional.

Ah; that's the "glass half empty" reply you'll NEVER hear from a true CRIMPer. We thrive on extremely outdated data! And often, on extremely outdated data-manipulating apps!

Why folding?

Well, I had no idea – I shall have to check it out (again; I periodically install and then somewhat regretfully uninstall NoteCase Pro... no iOS version, you see)

I agree with Luhmann - yes, I know I witter on about folding all the time, but actually it's about being able to focus specifically on one thing while maintaining a broad overview of a host of other (...

Hi Smithers, welcome as a posting member to the forum!
Ah yes, prettiness - the source of so much CRIMPing activity. That's why sad people like me have Agenda on their Macs and iOS devices, despite t...

So frustrating! Such a nearly great app!
But I'm encouraged by the update - notably that they appear to have unified the codebase (under Swift). That suggests they have Plans... maybe even a Roadmap!...

Hey, Paul - Timings 2 resolves that irritating "always wanting to report" problem and is a superb background logging tool.
Hey, Dellu - thanks for the very honest self-assessment; very interesting in...
Unclutter does lack an iOS app, true, but it's easy enough to set its home folder to iCloud/Dropbox and then use the text editor of your choice.
I've done exactly that - which is why I'd love to see ...
Nope, SheetPlanner is, as far as I'm aware, now in beta and making good progress. I'm looking forward to seeing the gold release!
Cheers,
