To do list system to use and invest in

As a hypothetical? Or is Dynalist making such an offer?
Since Dynalist comprises Erica and one other person, perhaps the question is can they keep at it for several more years -- enough to make the ...
Best wishes for 2020 and beyond

Thank you, Chris.
This site is comfortable, workable, and is just fine the way it is, IMO. I know early this year (?) there was chat about added features, but the focused design here is really quit...
I agree with this. "Dedicated" task managers such as 2Do or Todoist are more useful for "tasks".
It's a good idea to step back and think about what your "task management" needs are. There's a big d...

A very peaceful and rewarding New Year to everyone here (and everywhere).
I agree wholeheartedly with the kudos for Chris -- without him, there is no OutlinerSoftware community.
2019 reflection question
12/31/2019
What I learned from CRIMPing in 2019 is to do less of it. Learning a few "softwares" well is more interesting than quantity.
It's still fun to pick up a new shiny bauble and look at it for a while...
Voodoopad 6 preview

"Preview" notes from the Support site. "Modernizing and simplifying" means "we've removed some major functionality that some users might miss" including removing support for scripts. So after neglec...

Folding Text and Xpath

FoldingText's documentation discusses uses of XPath for queries:

Looking for streamlined offline Window note taker similar to ResophNotes but with rich formatting

Very likely I'm missing the point, but what about OneNote? The interface can be skinnied down to not much.
Hook has a major flaw: there is no way to discover what Hook knows.
I can create a bunch of links between documents or other entities with Hook (what Hook's maker calls a "mesh"). Then a week later ...

A useful feature of Curio that might work into the method you are experimenting is that you can drag an "idea space" (i.e., a canvas) into another idea space and you will get a live view of the dragge...
Mark Bernstein's Tinderbox video
https://vimeo.com/376012835
Zengobi has a YouTube channel, but there are only a handful of videos. Videos can take quite a bit of production time, a hard decision for a development shop of one (the case for Zengobi and Eastgat...
Drafts for Mac getting actions
11/28/2019
I have the Drafts beta with support for Actions. For the most part, it's a good port. There are some action categories that are not compatible with the macOS environment.

Here's why I would not subscribe to Curio. Zengobi is very responsive to user requests (that is, George Browning -- who is the entirely of Zengobi.) As as result, George is frequently making minor...
Tinderbox doesn't generate mind maps on the fly, based on a parameter-based query. I don't know of any "mind mapping" product that does that -- at least among the major players out there.
However,...
Portable local file links in Macos
11/25/2019
Are you thinking of file:/// links?
Since those links are path-driven, their transport across machines depends on consistent path names (starting at the root) on both machines.
Right, Curio at this time does not have an iOS/iPaOS counterpart so there's no reason to store Curio projects in iCloud, unless you want.

I believe @J J Weimer who posted earlier in this thread uses Curio for presentations -- he might have some tips for you on that front. Curio is far superior to Tinderbox for export cases like yours....
Transno

Worth noting some of what Erica said on the Dynalist forum (thanks to link posted above by @Luhman) -- ByteDance owns TikTok:

So, your project is to create a set of how-to notes for your own use?
I wouldn't use DEVONthink -- it's hard to use for cases where you want to work with an array visual information (like screens) si...

Dynalist goes awry?
11/10/2019
I don't care about markdown in Dynalist -- didn't say I did. I care about the very simple yet useful workspace it provides, as well as the quick ability to get notes in and out.
Dynalist's develop...
