I think most of those features (all?) are still there in the new App Store for Mojave. In the right sidebar there's a choice of broad categories, and under the "Categories" see "Productivity". Or w...
Processes not tools
9/24/2018
Firstly, welcome out from the woodwork. Glad you decided to post your thoughts.
I can't say I agree with it all (or any of it) but it's an interesting point of view. Even though you have a mainst...
It's nice to see a report like this when someone reaches the end of the quest and takes the time to post info about the hows and whys of their decision.
Thanks for this -- may the CRIMP be with you :...
Teaser - Polywick Story Server

I have no clue what the last few Polywick posts about telling us.
Is there ever going to be real software for someone to trial? Not API references; not screen shots or self-congratulatory Medium pos...

So Numbers is now an outliner
9/18/2018
Hmmm, I don't think I'd call the feature "outlining". As pointed out, it's more like pivot tables in Excel, or Excel's filters. I've tried the feature in Numbers and you need to do a heck of a lot ...
Evernote in trouble?
9/13/2018
Zoho Notebook is a mess, I agree. It looks like a port of a iOS app (designed for children) to Mac. The instructions for importing notebooks from Evernote are iPad-oriented and wrong. Even after ...

Jan S's suggestion of org mode is a good example of future proofing -- because it has a long history of having been future proof. It endures.
The key to future proofing your data store is to

Tinderbox as a task manager?
9/11/2018
Yes the menus in DropTask need work. If you are in My Planner view (the Kanban-like view), go to the menu and click the name of the project you want to work on. That will give you access to the Canva...
Tinderbox as a task manager?
9/10/2018
Long-time Tinderbox user here. I do not enjoy using Tinderbox as a "task manager" -- as the place where I collect, organize, edit, and schedule tasks. Tinderbox in this case case is a sink -- we ca...
Very interesting thread, Andy. Thank you for posting it.
A lot to absorb.
I habitually organize work documents hierarchically with descriptive names. Very old school, but decades of work files a...
Evernote in trouble?

Hah! So true. It is among those companies that seem to be a bad press magnet.

No doubt I will be be slapped up the side of the head for mentioning this, just hoping to rescue the topic of the this thread before it was hijacked. But a quick Google search for "Office 2010 telep...
Inspiration Maps for the iPad
9/1/2018
After what seems like a very long hiatus the folks at Inspiration released version 3 for iOS. Free for existing owners. A few nice tweaks. This app has always looked better on iOS than other OS. T...
@Andy Brice -- nice thought, but Hyperplan doesn't really work well for me with note taking and content or context mapping. It doesn't fit into the category of software discussed in this thread. J...
TheBrain v10 Alpha is available
8/28/2018
Not that it matters -- and developer's choice of version numbers is entirely idiosyncratic -- but the beta process for v9 was very long -- staring 10/2016 and ending about 18 months later. TheBrain ...
Some Windows options come to mind for the graphical piece. Each of these will play differently with the "dump in a bunch of notes" piece.

Sold! Always-on-top will reverse my thinking about cancelling the subscription. Great feature for all-round note taking during the day. Especially now with in-line images.

Polywick Story

No doubt the Polywick crew will tell us whatever they choose.
Maybe one thread on this topic is sufficient? Seeing as most of the conversation is over in the thread Polywick started?

Timing for 3$

Tried Ideas from this bundle.
Should have rented a movie instead. Ideas is an ugly little app.
I also picked up iMeetingX (which has a Windows version too). Not bad.
