RightNote Pro

The only reason why I upgraded to the Pro edition last year was the ability to import Evernote notes and notebooks. That works - as long as you do not use umlauts in the notebook names.

@Dr. Andus: Thanks for the information.
Loosing data is not my main concern. I do not want to depend on internet access for my tools to work. And I want to be able to continue using the tools even in...
"Am I just dumb, or is RightNote total rubbish?" - Well, if you ask this way, my answer is: Yes.
Until now, I have only used RN for importing notes from Evernote (see the thread I opened a few weeks ...

Gingko looks impressing. But I am reluctant to use an online-only application for my work. I did not find any mention of plans for an offline app.
Bill or Dr. Andus: Any news regarding an offline app...

I guess it is Chaos Intellect (http://www.chaossoftware.com/products.aspx). At least, that is what 22111 mentioned.

The Soulmen now give away their iPad/iPhone editor as freemium - with a few in-app offers (e.g. TXT, RTF, PDF and ePub export for 0.89 Euro).

Clarification:
Inserting a hyperlink to an EN note into Xmind works. But you have to manually change the Xmind node's title.
Scapple inserts the hyperlink AND uses the note's name as the node title....

Thanks Paul.
What I found out so far:
- there is Medley, but that only displays meta data on Evernote usage, etc. - EN notes are not touched
- there is the possibility to copy EN notes URLs and past...

So: Rightnote Pro (and Trial) is able to import Evernote notes. The trouble I had with several aborted imports were due to something Rightnote was not prepared for: I had an umlaut (Ü) in a noteb...

We (me?) hijacked the thread on the perfect outliner to discuss getting notes out from Evernote.
So, let's start a new thread.
I remembered that Rightnote has an import/sync option for Evernote note...
Dr. Andus.
No, I haven't tried it with CT. I have a licence (vs5) but I am not willing to permanently switch between edit and view (or however it is called) mode. So, CT and any wiki that has these 2...
Mohio - mindmap your Evernote

Thanks from me, too. Though I don't have a Mac any more and though I prefer a desktop software to an iPad app - the 10 inch screen on my iPad is no comparison to my 20 and 24" monitors.
Thanks Steve and Dr. Andus.
So I should take a look at the TheBrain demo during the holidays.
@Steve and Dr. Andus.
Is it possible to drag&drop Evernote notes into TheBrain or ConnectedText. Or - instead of notes - links to Evernote notes?
Thanks, Franz
Mohio - mindmap your Evernote

I just spent an hour trying to make sense of about 40 notes in a notebook and of 130 notes in another.
Well, what Mohiomap does: It takes the notes titles in a notebook and groups them in star shape...

You're welcome, 22111. And thanks for reacting the way you did :-)

Hi 22111.

If I were you:
I'd ask myself: "What are my motivations for posting in the forum?" I'd try to be as honest to myself as possible.
I'd ask myself: "Wha...
