Facebook group to discuss Outliners ?
12/23/2014
I like coming to one destination (this one) rather than having to check two places for similar content, and risk missing good stuff if I don't. Are there benefits to a Facebook group that we don't enj...
SuperNoteCard now a cloud app!
12/19/2014
Underwhelming is the word. I used SuperNotecard years ago, though its Java-ishness kept it out of my permanent toolbox. The cloud version is two steps back in a misguided effort to go one step forward...
Oh dear, really can't help myself
11/23/2014
I do get the initial screen, with default pre-chosen, but when I click "OK" it thinks for a few seconds and then freezes. I've tried clicking the pencil icon and modifying some of the settings, even a...

How about a URL? Windows version?
Write! - distraction-free writing software
10/25/2014
Just fired it up. Right out of the gate, it uses 356 MB (!!) of memory. That's WAY more than anything else on my Windows 7 system, including Word and InDesign and Thunderbird put together, with room l...
Write! - distraction-free writing software

Does look nice. But download size: 43+ MB! Wow. They must have packed Stephen King in there.
Wow - that's some buggy software. Crashed three times in under a minute on Windows 7 - twice when I tried to start a new file, once when I tried to view the back of the default card.
Is this an extra credit assignment?

As of July 1:
"We are proud to announce that Notebooks for Windows 1.0 is now available for download and purchase."
License is $21.99.
Just noticed this; very scary:
"Items you delete in Notebooks...
Tried Notebooks App - tremendous disappointment. It's a memory hog, seems laggy and buggy, and crashed after just a few minutes (on Windows 7). There seems no way to export notes to plain text or HTML...
Software for Keeping Track of Reviewers

This is quite helpful, Dominik. Thank you.
Software for Keeping Track of Reviewers
6/26/2014
Thanks, Ken. I've been using Trello for quite a few months now, primarily as a means to keep track (at a very high, at-a-glance level) of where books are in the acquisition/production/publication proc...
Software for Keeping Track of Reviewers

Thanks for all the excellent advice. I'm going to give The Brain a shot, swayed by Steve's screenshot of what-can-be. I hope - for my modest needs - the learning curve won't make my nose bleed.

You know my dirty secret: I'm not familiar with Excel. If there's nothing else out there adequate for my needs, I'll just have to bite the bullet and learn what I need to learn. But is there an "Excel...
Software for Keeping Track of Reviewers

I run a small press and typically send out dozens of review copies (books) each month.
I've been keeping track of who gets what, when they get it, whether they actually write and post a review, etc.,...
I don't think I'll use your system, but your mention of Firefox Foxsplitter got me looking for a similar Chrome extension, which I found: Split Screen. Now, in one browser window, I can have an outlin...
This seems like a lot of work to get much the same result as you could with Dropbox and SugarSync (or some folder symlinks), regardless of what software you use.
Well, it's not a total loss. I hadn't heard of Chaos Intellect before 22111 brought it up here in the forum. I went to check it out, and have been playing with it for most of the day. It seems like an...
Trello?
3/1/2014
I use Trello for a few very specific purposes, for example, I organize the books I publish in four columns (Potential, Progress, Pending, and Published). It's a nice, at-a-glance view of the titles in...
With all due respect, your posts are dense, poorly written jumbles, usually intended to denigrate software or software developers, or to make some esoteric point. It isn't that I don't understand what...
I believe it's a rant about Chaos Intellect based on that product's use of the ubiquitous term "contact". But it could also be about the Westminster Dog Show. I'm not sure.
Swift To-Do List is maturing nicely...

By "items" he might mean posts to OutlinerSoftware.
Given the choice you pose, I would say that RightNote is not total rubbish.
