One Note Templates
9/16/2016
I've started to use One Note to manage my information for university classes and assignments. I created a template which I now want to delete from the list of templates. There appears to be no way to ...
Evernote raises prices

I wonder if Evernote is in worse financial shape than it's disclosing. I agree with Paul's dismay. It certainly seemed to me that EN was grandfathering existing premium subscribers.

Agree. $45 is tops.

Evernote raises prices

Steve, I have paid for Evernote for some time, and will not switch to the higher of the two paid sub options.
As readers here may be aware, I have long sought an alternative to EN, because the UI an...
I've tried Wiznote a few times, most recently in early spring. In the Windows world it's the best Evernote - like alternative to EN I have seen. I believe, without confirming by checking my laptop whi...
New unofficial workflowy app

All the work-arounds and third party software notwithstanding, it appears Workflowy development has stalled. Continuing to advance Workflowy does not necessarily equate to product bloat. Also, the And...
Hyper Plan 2 on Bits du Jour

I just bought Hyper Plan 2 on Bits du Jour. Discount is 50 per cent; cost US$20. Good deal.
Hyper Plan appears very practical and well thought-out.

Card-based productivity software

I use NoteZilla because it's so much more than a sticky notes program.
I once used ndxCards, and thought it had a great future. Unfortunately it has not been developed for several years. I liked its ...

Ken, I so agree with you re app and other software web sites. Many are a waste of space, and prime examples of bad design

I hope that Noteliner continues, and its developer is ok. It's a good outliner with a neat feature set.

Taskfabric / Organize:Pro

Graham, the point is that when I was ranting I didn't realize the nature of the problem was related to screen size, or ven that the list wS there until you helpfully pointed it out to me. If I had, yo...
Taskfabric / Organize:Pro

Thanks, Graham. On my tablet I see a list, describing each offering, one after the other. What I was looking for was a chart with each offering having a column, so it is easy to see, side by side and ...
Taskfabric / Organize:Pro

I didn't find a chart on the website outlining the features of the different products on offer. Hard to pick out exactly what makes one product different, and a different price, than the other two. Se...
Funny thing is that All My Notes has tried to position itself as a successor to InfoSelect. If that was true, it would be true of all the other two-pane outliners. Another funny thing is that some Inf...
I bought Notetaker for Windows a few years ago. It failed to do one of the key things I bought it for. Trying to get that problem corrected was useless because no response from Aquaminds who appear to...
Memonic - an Evernote Replacement?

Does anyone know if Memonic is still being developed? http://www.memonic.com/home
Has anyone experience working with Memonic?
From its site I don't see anything after 2013. The Windows program downl...

The end of the Taking Note blog

I meant, of course, to write Taking Note. I apologize with a red face for misnaming this blog which I had hoped to honour, along with its creator, Mandred Kuehn.

I also am saddened that Manfred Kuehn has announced he will no longer blog. Take Note is always interesting and, while as the name suggests, it is mostly about notes and note-taking, I find Manfred is...
Virtual machines for CRIMPers

I would like too, so I checked the Virtual Box site, and apparently there is a way to get Mac running on the PC. I will be exploring it further.

Evernote Killing off Clearly and Skitch
12/19/2015
I find that, increasingly, I use Evernote because it clips well, and I can get it on all my devices.
Evernote's success has attracted millions, some of whom, like myself, subscribe.
The software has...
I downloaded EasyDesktop today, and got it set up. I like it a lot. It's far more user friendly than the Windows 10 or Classic approaches, though I like Classic because it is similar to Windows 7.

Neat! Looks like Trello with simular appeal! It is like the ultimate dashboard. But predates both Trello and dashboard concept. I'm going to try it. Thanks for sharing.
