Make that five. It's been a few years since I've purchased a pen, but I love my collection.

run your life

For me, the three most essential are iCal, Evernote, and OmniFocus. I don't think I do much with less than those three. Oh, and email. It's nice to know that I'm not constrained to any one device for ...
Too many tools/Too much information

Ken,
A good alternative to Evernote is Simplenote. Its iOS client is most excellent, and is my preferred writing environment on my iPad. It syncs to Simplenote's website, and the client ResophNotes...

Good question; it's still a curiosity to me, and I'm slowly growing more fond of it, but it's not yet found a firm place ...
Twig, a couple months later

Twig has been out and stable for a couple months now. At first i didn't "get" it, but I think I'm now starting to understand and appreciate it, and I may be growing rather fond of it.
Does anyone wh...
All,
For what it's worth, here is my list of frequently used Mac apps and what I most frequently use them for. It seems appropriate since we've been talking so much lately about Mac apps.

Daly,
I think a false expectation may be leading to your disappointment. There are different philosophies on the two platforms, and you seem to not be allowing yourself enough time to adapt to the M...

I'm a systems administrator for a number of the larger labs at the largest network hardware manufacturer. Auditing classes at a graduate theological seminary has become my current hobby. I love resear...
a long while back I used this:

I was quite happy with it.
Cady,
I went through a similar transition two years ago; after many, many years on PCs I got my first Mac - a Macbook Pro. I have gradually fallen in love with it, and will never be without a Mac.

Steve,
I'm on the sideline on this one for sure. The Stevenote was a bit underwhelming to me, but I think the device has incredible potential. I'll be keeping a close eye on it over the next few mo...
ActionOutline at 'bitsdujour'

Stephen,
I've not used Opal, so I can't make that comparison, but ActionOutline was my go-to outliner when I was on Windows. I'd say it's a minimalist two-pane outliner, simple and reliable.
Yes, excellent post, Steve. I saw it yesterday in a tweet from @Eastgate - congratulations! I look forward to future installments.
