I think the issue I have had with Tinderbox's learning curve is that the printed documentation seems to get immediately bogged down in assigning properties to a note, and how to access those propertie...
Between Beck and Stephen (and that fellow in France), I may actually be able to use Tinderbox. Looking at the manual and reading The Tinderbox Way don't seem to mesh with my brain.

The Freewrite Traveler crowd funding was insanely successful, and I'm hoping that all of the money will be used to improve the battery and software. My first Freewrite died within a day of using it (s...
I am also curious. The surface is reportedly more paper-like, but some of the reviews of it by users are unflattering. I eventually just got an iPad Pro so I could take advantage of the handwriting re...
It is a mixture of good and bad. I have found the software in it to be quirky and less than reliable. It definitely excels at freewriting as it is difficult to do any sort of editing. I liked the tact...
I'll try the handwritten version or may decide to use my FreeWrite keyboard as it has no distractions and I can do it before the office opens at 8:00 AM.
Beck,
You are using Morning Pages [the app], or Morning Pages [the practice]?

It occurred to me that the apps I use at work *don’t* get used st home. I use Agenda at home to keep a diary of my audo recording routines. My home info tends to be more diary-like, though I do ...
For the first time in over a month, I accidentally left my Bullet Journal at home, and I was lost without it.

Thanks Stephen,
Though I have a DropBox account, I don't like the amount of space it takes on my computers, so I don't have anything sync'd locally. I can wait to see if iCloud is added to the new ve...

As I recall, there is no syncing of MacJournal as of yet. Does anyone know if the data file can be run from iCloud (as long as two machines are not trying to access it simultaneously)?

Aquaminds Notetaker

I'm not sure which niche Aquaminds is relying on. One thing I like about Mac apps is that they are not aimed squarely at accountants, managers, HR personnel, big team coordination. What has become mor...

I found Circus Ponies to be prettier, and it seemed to do indexing well. I'm not sure why the legal profession enamored of CPN but not Notetaker.

Hog Bay started off with a note-keeping app, Mori, that started getting a following. Jesse then sold it to someone who bungled its maintenance, dooming it. I assume that he sorely needed the money. I ...

I guess that "neglectware" is relative. I thought that Circus Ponies was doing well for its genre, but went out in a most alarming fashion. Midnight Inbox (GTD app) has promised a new update for abou...

They intend to sell it on the App store rather than directly.

Notetaker 4 beta seems far more stable than some of the versions in the past. They are now working on the documentation. I won’t know what the new features are until I get this. I’m confid...

Thanks much. I’ll give Ulysses another shot. I’m using the iPad much more these days, so it makes sense.
New Ulysses features coming

Thanks for the quick comparison. It sounds like Ulysses is more aligned with my workflow. I don't like the "one long document" paradigm. Neil Larson of MaxThink used to compare that to a single, long ...

I hear such positive things about Bear and Ulysses, and I have tried each in my workflow without really liking either. I keep reading about how "beautiful" Bear is, but it looks pretty much like Ulyss...
Aquaminds 4.0 (beta). It seems to be in the last stages of beta testing, and it performs without a hitch. I don't t know about how it differs from 3.0 because betas usually have no help screens (so I ...
I have bounced all over among Things, OmniFocus, and ToDoist, and usually stay in ToDoist longer than the others. What I am trying now is Bullet Journal (analog) because it just seems like too much of...
Holiday discount on Curio

Curio should be one of my faves, but it just seems so complicated. Then I tried Notion. Now Curio seems much more manegeable.

In the early 90s, Symantec made a wonderful program called ACT! that managed all of my letters and memos and contacts. Since then, everything seems to be way more expensive, web-based, business-based,...
