Obsidian in public beta
5/30/2020
Just downloaded the app. It seems quite fast but also very clumsy to navigate. It took me almost five minutes to import a Markdown file into the app: it requires the files to be inside the pre-establi...

That link was floated to the top of Hacker News the other day. Interesting discussion:

Just stumbled onto this Mac/iOS app. A mindmapper with colored tags, dates (and Smart Lists based on date), and it can be used and viewed either in task/outline view or mindmap view. Free trial downlo...

Gingko is MIA. I purchased the Gingko2 desktop app 51 months ago and its development has crawled forward, and it remains incompatible with the online version.

Service is still being developed, and it's still free. Almost forgot about it, until I got an email saying that because of the current health emergency they're dropping all limits for nonprofits.

Useful Article Explaining Zettelkasten

I thought this was an interesting article about creating a Zettelkasten in Typora (cross-platform, in free beta for Mac for years):

Taskade

Free should be a taster. I have no problem with an app reserving the most desired features for paying customers.

There are many dozens of productivity apps and of course something's going to have features in the freebie version that other apps don't. And vice versa. I pay for Todoist, by the way, but I see plent...

That article notes that it's a Mac app too.

It's promising as a notetaking app. MacStories oddly compares it to Notion, which is a person...
In various incarnations Opal was my main outliner for decades - originally called Acta in the 80s, then sold off and renamed Dyno NotePad, then reverting to the original developer. Opal is now a 64-bi...
Outlinely has been on my radar for a couple of years, as I like the way they reimplemented the look of Dynalist in a Mac/iOS app whose data I control. I'm not fully on-board with it because it seems t...
