The point eastgate makes about dark patterns is a good one, and I recognize there are beneficial use cases, but I'm in the camp of abstaining from using LLMs as much as I reasonably can because the te...
Workflowy - Updates? News?
12/17/2021
It's a very nice implementation, esp. with the navigable hierarchy displayed as mentioned above.
Anybody Using Notetaker?
12/6/2021
NoteTaker works well for me as a CPN replacement. I use the clipper only occasionally, but it has worked well when I've tried it. The index feature is great.
I've been using Workflowy quite a bit for general notes. The mirror feature is extremely well implemented, as are dates, attachments, and boards, all of which are relatively now. Of the online outline...
Web Clipper

There are so many. I think it depends on what you need. Cross platform, Evernote and Firefox's SingleFile extensions work very well. On the Mac, EagleFiler and Yojimbo are good options.
Curio 15 is out
5/2/2021
I've used Curio on and off since v7, and I don't upgrade every cycle. I will probably upgrade to version 15 but may purchase an upgrade every other year or so. I think this licensing model is a fair o...
macOS Checklist App
10/24/2020
I started using Checkvist in a Fluid.app wrapper. Works well for checklists, acts like a Mac app, and has great keyboard shortcut support.
Evernote reinventing itself

The two-device limit now includes the web version.
macOS Checklist App

OmniOutliner seems like a good solution. Numbers also has a checklist template with check boxes, and it allows template creation, so that's another possibility.
(Yet another) interesting new app!

Voodoopad 6 preview

Evernote's new editor
10/22/2019
I've been impressed with the small improvements over the past year, and think the company is moving in the right direction on larger updates.
Aquaminds Notetaker

The site was updated, I noticed. Looks like it is going to be released this month.
Back to Workflowy from Dynalist
9/7/2019
I've used both, and other tools like Checkvist. Workflowy's big strength to me is the single tree idea, and the way it really handles extremely long outlines very, very well.

Looks like it's hosted on Digital Ocean and uploads are on AWS.

From the Aquaminds blog it looks like v4 will be released any time now.
MacJournal

Looks like Macjournal won't be distributed by Mariner going forward: http://marinersoftware.com/77373-2/
Apps that offer cloning of notes
2/9/2019
I think NeO does cloning, but it has been some time since I used it.
Quiver 3.2
2/9/2019
I rely on Quiver to save my script snippets, mostly shell scripts and Applescripts. It works very well for that.
Best outliner software for windows ?
2/9/2019
I don't use Windows all that often, but when I did I used Treepad quite a bit and found it to be very reliable. It's been around forever.
