Thanks Tom - you're right, I crave elegance (speed and power in adding keywords, apart from anothing else) - but I didn't know that those properties were there! Useful and simple ...

Snippet/archive/library tool

Hello Jack,
I have X1 and, after posting, I also realised that I can easily use PaperPort to search as well. I suppose what I'm missing is depth and quality of search, and ease of use of returned in...
Snippet/archive/library tool

Hello all,
The next stage in my attempts at organising myself is to find a tool to allow easy searching and access of my text and documents archive.
The situation is that, using PaperPort, I have sc...

Gird your loins, ladies and gentlemen, if you try this one - it's incredibly buggy!
New Product Alert: Debrief

I'm afraid this one didn't last long on my PC. Apart from numerous spelling errors within the program, and equally numerous error messages, it only showed dates in American format. Very annoying ......

Daly, also read the comments at http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/direct-access/#comments - it looks like you should receive a registration by e-mail - perhaps it's been blocked.

Daly,
I'm also using DirectAccess and am quite happy with it, and Andrea (the developer) is very reactive to problems.
My experience with the Giveawayoftheday website is that programs are delivere...
Task managers

Progress report!
I should have mentioned in my specs that the program needs to run on Windows, and really I am looking for simplicity (hence "task manager" rather than "PIM" or "project manager").
I...
Collectors/floating windows/icons

In testing ITSD Organizer I am finding the semi-opaque floating collector window (which remains on the desktop even when the program is minimised and to where text and files can be dragged to to be ad...

Thanks for the UR tips Jan. I do use UR because I have been able to replace 3 other programs with it and it gives me a complete customer view in one place. I hope it gets better, and I hope Kinook d...

I'll try ToDoList2 and Priorganizer.
Taskline isn't much good for me because it assumes equal value to all projects. You raised some good points, Hugh! My tasks have different values - some require ...
Task managers

I didn't warm to MyLifeOranized, I'm afraid. It is far too controlling - it won't even let the user alter the completed amount in a project, and a single data entry error could mean that a task never...

I've been searching for a good task manager. Not having found much about them in this forum, I'd like to solicit any experiences from users, and express my own experiences in case they prove useful t...
Brainstreamer

Dag Peter,
As you asked for feedback, I downloaded and had a little play with Brainstormer. I also like the concept, and it has some strong points (like a good html editor with good graphics and tab...
Direct Access

Hi Charles,
I am always looking at ways to reduce the number of programs that I need to run at one time, and Direct Access enables me to get rid of two - SlickRun and FlashPaste. It has the added adv...

One of the problems I've been having is my personal inability to organise my organisers.
For example. I read a suggestion that software downloads could be embedded within Surfulator, with notes and...
Hi Cassius,
I can't say whether the problems I reported have been resolved as I don't have time at the moment to further test UR. My problem was that copying web pages from within UR did not always ...
Thinking Tools on a USB key?
4/1/2007
Whizfolders will run from a USB stick, but the developer doesn't publicise how to do this because that information could potentially be misused. If you're a registered user, he'll probably tell you.

Hmmm. Difficult! For me probably:
- Whizfolders 6
- UltraRecall 3 (this is provisional - I'm finding it a struggle to use)
- Namo Webeditor (to build my website!), QuickBooks (for my accounts) and ...
