Experts can type in morse code at 60 wpm. Not easy to get there, but even the "normal" rate of regular users is about 20wpm which is what I suspect most people do on an iPhone... I just test myself on...
Dynalist MindMap View
4/2/2019
New blog post from Dynalist announcing this feature:
https://blog.dynalist.io/2019-march-update/
Personally I find it unusable (the navigation jumps around too much. But even if I could use it, I al...
Taskade
4/2/2019
I check out Taskade regularly, but while there is a lot to like it still falls short compared with the tools I currently use: 2Do, Dynalist, and Todoist. Especially:
- Lack of a dedicated notes field...
So after spending a few weeks on this, trying various solutions I settled on .... Google Keep
First of all, I found that database style apps, such as TapForms or AirTable, etc. are not ideal. One of...
Dropbox Paper
3/18/2019
Been using Dropbox Paper again for a project and noticed that it has some basic folding. Headings can be folded. I know that is a big thing for some group members! Also, the paragraphs can be dragged ...
I totally endorse the central message of this Lifehacker article from last year:

Ulysses v15 Released
3/12/2019
The new keyword management interface is sorely disappointing. It is a pop-up window rather than integrated into the main interface, and few other changes have been made to make it easier to manage key...
New Apps of Interest
3/11/2019
I thought it might be nice to have a thread devoted to sharing news about newly released apps, major updates to existing apps, and little known apps that someone has recently discovered. In that spiri...
I made a Dynalist outline of my "digital toolkit" which is basically an extended version of my earlier contribution to this thread.

Migrate from Dynalist to Outlinely
3/4/2019
Since this group is called Outliner Software, worth noting that the Goal Enforcer developers have a new (windows-only) outlining app:
https://www.visualoutliner.com/
I don't use windows, but I thoug...
Migrate from Dynalist to Outlinely
3/1/2019
I try to separate out functions to different apps and thus largely avoid using Dynalist as a task manager. I use it mostly for taking notes, organizing my syllabi, and brainstorming new projects. I do...
Migrate from Dynalist to Outlinely
2/28/2019
Since they (finally) fixed the iOS app, I now use Dynalist exclusively. I was lucky enough to be grandfathered in to the older subscription rate, so I pay for Dynalist Pro. I also purchased a lifetime...

Paperpile is working on improving the search of your highlights within the app - especially if you use their built in highlighting tools on the web or in their (beta) mobile app. But I like to work wi...

For me GTD is about NOT thinking about things I have to do. The benefit of GTD is precisely that it isn't one big list, but that it hides all the things that can be done "someday" or in a different co...

Dynalist on iOS actually working?
1/28/2019
So the latest update Dynalist 1.3.1 seems to fix the remaining issues that were still causing it to freeze on launch. I say "seems" because I keep announcing that the problem is fixed only to find tha...
Todoist to offer Kanban boards (again)
1/26/2019
Taskade is another app that foolishly insists on treating notes like comments.
2Do's option to switch between "checklists" and "Projects" gives one nice flexibility about how to handle sub-tasks. (P...

ProgressBox (iOS, macOS)
1/24/2019
A new apple-centric Trello clone looks nice, but is useless to me because while I am apple-centric, when I collaborate I need something that everyone can use...

Thanks for the summary. To elaborate a bit, I use 2Do for all my personal tasks, but I also use Todoist, Trello, and Dynalist. I wouldn't include Dynalist here because I don't use it as a task manager...
I believe a large part of what makes GTD useful is the ability to hide what you don't need to see, while being confident that your system will bring stuff to your attention when you do need to see it....
