NVIVO vs Devonthink 8/6/2017
I just tried within Outlinely. It filters only within the note. The design works only under the assumption that one would put multiple tags within a single extended note. As I have mentioned before,...

Things 3 is released 8/2/2017
I like the task notes are displayed along with the tasks. They are hidden in Things But, how do you hide the items on the left menu (like the Categories....)? The difference beteween your workflow ...
Things 3 is released 8/2/2017
Firetask seems interesting application. I specially like the Kanban part. But, I am still worried again on the complexity. I think Firetask has the same inclination as the OF and 2DO: the task man...
Is the original OneNote desktop app doomed? 7/30/2017
Strange. I am now wondering where the mac Onenote belongs. I sometimes open Windows 10: I never noticed the new app. The new one doesn't support harndwriting...hmm.
Onenote Mac now has the separate windows 7/30/2017
I see, the tags in Bear seem to give it a better organization system than the folder system in Onenote. Onenote's tag is not as such robust. The problem with both of the applications is that they ar...

Any advantage of Bear over Onenote?

The "link to paragraph" feature specially is very useful--link to a specific point or idea rather than linking to the whole document (note). Even Tinderbox cannot do that.
Onenote Mac now has the separate windows 7/30/2017
One of the features I have been missing from the Ms. Onenote was the separate windows. After a long wait, now, it is here. Onenote windows has been very efficient for years now. Slowly, the mac vers...
Things 3 is released 7/29/2017
The Sepate Window has immediately become my favorite feature in Things 3. I can finally concentrate on one specific prorject; without being distracted by any other to do. I can write my progress logs,...

NVIVO vs Devonthink 7/9/2017
@Prion: The problem with the exploding of text in Tinderbox is that it breaks the flow. If you have a longer note: and break it down into separate notes, really, the flow gets broken. Furthermore, pd...
NVIVO vs Devonthink 7/9/2017
Thank you Paul. That is right. QDA can do more details: and the concept map of the tags. But, most important to me is not the concept map of the tags themselves: rather the concept map of the quotatio...

NVIVO vs Devonthink 7/4/2017
Thank you guys. I just tried NVIVO today. My university has a license to it. So, basically, I ge it for free. I was just wondering if it can do better than Devonthink+Tinderbox of identifying relatio...
NVIVO vs Devonthink 7/4/2017
I know most people in here are users of Devonthink. I was wondering if any of you have tried NVIVO, a professional research tool for annotating and aggregating data. How are the two different? In wha...

Day One gives itself a "Premium" service 6/30/2017
MacJournal looks much better because it supports encryption. The mutiple windows are also wonderful. I love applications that can open mutiple windows side by side (Devonthink and Tinderbox). But, i...

Bear can natively import from Dayone. that is interesting.
Day One gives itself a "Premium" service 6/30/2017
yes, encryptions are necessary. And, also, the entries should not be visible to Spotlight. Otherwise, the journals would be easily public. For that reason, I don't think Devonthink and Tinderbox are g...

Daymap: a cheap, simple but efficient for scheduling 6/15/2017
I like this cheap app. I find the scheduling feature extremely simple and intuitive: much better than any of the todo apps I have tried. Just drag your task to the day of the week. https://www.you...

Never mind: I just tried the Trial. It uses internal database system. It looks great application. But, thanks: not for me.
