yes, that is concept map. LIke the one we have in Miro: https://miro.com/concept-map/ Quite interestingly, the developers in Obsidian are working on to develop sth similar to Miro or Scapple. I was d...
Discourse map! 11/15/2022
I have been a big fan of Scapple for a long time. I sometimes try people to use it. But, I was having a hard time explaining why the maps in Scapple are different from the maps in Obsidian and other h...

Building a Second Brain 11/2/2022
Thank you for mentioning the book here. I will going to check it out. I don't want to be a bummer here. But, I really have very negative view of the idea of "de-stressing the brain". I have seen th...
Obsidian 1.0 10/26/2022
This method, unfortunately, has a drawback. My idea was to make the markdown notes available across the three types of operating systems: - MacOS - Android - IOs - One way to ship them to IOs is ...
Obsidian 1.0 10/25/2022
Finally, I find a format to make the absolute link visible to all the markdown aware apps: ![](file:///Users/Dellu/Dropbox/Drop_Notes/nvALTmd/images/pic1.png)
Obsidian 1.0 10/25/2022
I just realized that the problem is with the path rather than the format. Obsidian doesn't like or understand the absolute path embedded into the the syntax itself. ![](/Users/Dellu/Dropbox/Drop_No...

Obsidian doesn't use standard Markdown for attaching images: https://forum.obsidian.md/t/have-separate-use-markdown-links-options-for-wikilinks-and-image-links/7686 This is very problematic. Images ...
Obsidian 1.0 10/21/2022
Hi Bill, Yes, i have tried UpNote because I have read your views about it before. The thing about it is that, it is really cross-platform. The organization tools in it are also brilliant. I like it a...
Obsidian 1.0 10/20/2022
The new version is very refined and attractive. I have been trying it as well. One major issue is the price of the Sync. To tackle this issue, I have been trying different methods of Syncing across t...
Tana? 10/11/2022
It has feature inheritance and prototypes (renamed as "super tag"). Tinderbox used to be the sole note taking app with prototypes and inheritances (so far as I can tell). Who know when the Agent/ac...
The new versions of Notebooks (12 & 3) are here! 7/27/2022
@MadaboutDana Thank you for the good points. - It is nice that you like it. Yes, Notebooks views a number of file formats. But, I cannot edit them. That is a deal breaker for me. I just like it whe...
The new versions of Notebooks (12 & 3) are here! 7/26/2022
For anyone who has Keep it, I think Keep It is slightly better in some areas. The major downside of Notebooks for me was the lack of RTF support. The following is the comparison I did a while ago (po...

May I ask what was the source for the list above? The thing is: I was comparing apps that are either free to use, or have some t...
Apps for Scratchpads 6/24/2022
I used to write scratches (things I am doing "right now"/logs) using my writing apps such as KeepIt/Curiota/DT etc. The problem with that method is the scratchpad note gets lost in the jungle: and o...
New app, Bike 5/20/2022
It appears to me that Bike is just a chunk of code from FoldingText. It is neither better nor faster than it. I was also amazed when I received the invitation..I see no reason to buy Bike, really. I...
