Nigel, I just fixed the convoluted problem.
Screencasting simply wouldn't work in Linux, so I finally bought a Windows laptop and did the demo there.
Now I have almost an hour of new screencasting...

In my experience, collaboration-ware tends to be insufficient for personal use, and vice versa. That's sort of inherent - personal flexibility is lost with cross platform and cross-person availability...
