Recurring tasks are often included as a Pro/pay feature. That’s the way it is in MeisterTask, Trello, and also (I think) TickTick.

Ugh.  Not competitive.  Todoist, for example, offers recurring tasks at the free level, and for $3/month offers a load of features far better than Taskade, IMO.

Maybe not fair to compare, but when pennies count, comparison shopping pays.

There are many dozens of productivity apps and of course something’s going to have features in the freebie version that other apps don’t. And vice versa. I pay for Todoist, by the way, but I see plenty of people complaining that its free tier is missing features that people want to use.

Ultimately, all these apps offer limited tastes for free with more useful tools for $$, while minimizing the number of long-term freeloaders. (shrug)

Arguably repeating tasks don’t really make sense as a basic feature for a kanban board app like Trello (I use Trello for some things and have never needed it there), but it is a basic feature for a traditional task manager.

Free should be a taster. I have no problem with an app reserving the most desired features for paying customers.
