Bit Defender Problem

Some weeks ago I installed Bit Defender, but never did much with it. However, I noticed Bit Defender was involving itself when I tried to access my on-line banking, change pass words, etc.

I removed Bit Defender, but somehow or other, I could never quite get rid of it, and the concerning behaviour continued. The main concern is that after getting the program I never actually turned it on in the first place.

I have checked the Bit Defender help pages, but they seem to me designed to let the customer do everything and not to actually get help from the company.

The directions for getting rid of BD do not make sense to me.

I wonder if anyone here knows how I can get a real response from Bit Defender and/or get rid of it on my computer.

When a program ingratiates itself on to my computer as much as Bit Defender appears to have done, and gives such poor guidance to customers on how to get rid of it, I become very susppicious.

I appreaciate any suggestions which may help me get rid of BD.

Many thaks.

Daly

Any chance you could do a system restore to a point before it installed itself on your computer?

I have encountered similar problems in the past. What I found that works is https://www.revouninstaller.com/products/revo-uninstaller-pro/
You want the paid pro version because it has “Extended scanning for leftovers.” It is astounding the amount of leftovers some programs leave behind.
I use Revo to install and uninstall all programs

What I have done when I had a similar problem as yours:
1. Opened Revo and used it to REINSTALL the program like your Bit Defender. This way Revo can track everything. Just follow the simple instructions.
2. After reinstalling, but BEFORE stopping Revo’s monitoring, you should open Bit Defender. You don’t need to do anything with it.
3. Close Bit Defender and stop Revo’s monitoring so a log file can be created.
4. Within Revo, choose Bit Defender, and then click Uninstall.
5. Have patience and follow the instructions. At one point you’ll see a dialog asking about how deep you want Revo to go in finding leftovers. If you are familiar with your computer’s workings, go for the deep clean (whatever it is called).
6. During deep clean, if there is something flagged for possible deletion you are not sure about, skip it.

I hope this helps.,
