WikidPad... by a longshot. It is the only one that I've found that allows you to get into the nitty-gritty corners of the app (if you are so inclined).

Total Text Container

Eh. Looks like some kid ran across some open source widgets and put a wrapper around it. That is why he is so hesitant to make the source code available even though he is hosting it on sourceforge.
For those interested in an open source personal wiki, there's "Wikidpad".

If you like TreePad, you should definitely check out KeyNote. Although it is no longer actively supported, it is mature and stable. I've tried dozens of different tools, but keep going back to KeyN...

I just remembered. My favorite integrated app (AppleWorks/ClarisWorks for Windows) supports outlines! Outlines in the word processing module capable of folding/hiding/collapsing and manipulating out...

I had been posting about this in one of the long threads. It's exactly what I've been looking for as well. Sadly, Tkoutline is probably the closest thing. I found a copy of the old DOS textmode PC-...

Fast Word Processor w RTF & Outlining

I use KeyNote for organizing personal data, but it isn't really an outliner... at least not in the traditional sense. That is why I suggested EControl. Unfortunately, there isn't a nimble, RTF-capab...
Fast Word Processor w RTF & Outlining

Your request got me reminiscing about the good old DOS textmode days and an awesome outliner called PC-Outline. I did a quick google search for "folding editors" and found EControl. It is advertised...

Based on your stated needs, it seems to me that a standalone info organizer is NOT the way to go. The amount of data you gather will most likely exceed the capacity of those apps. And as databases g...
Fresh icons for KeyNote!

Hey all! That old workhorse, KeyNote is really showing its age appearance-wise. It looks like it would be more at home on Windows 3.1 or Win95 than a more modern version of Windows. In my search fo...
