folder and file skeuomorphism is totally dead to just about every generation younger than me... and that notion only rose on its development of database structure.... >> what I'm getting at...

they had my money for a year.
the function on offer was pretty great..
that UI though.... super jarring to look at and work in!

It's a little on the 'bleeding-edge' but it's surprising that I cant think of an alternative that blends structured data properties, markdown notes and your file system.
There's still a lot to build ...

I'll throw a quirky vote to Author on Mac.
I outline with legend or workflowy and then write in Author..
It was the best minimal fit after FoldingText finally gave up on me.

Browser based and session based note-taking is kinda the essence of note-taking simplicity. Contempraneous i think it's called.

You know, all those years ago, I had super high hopes for foldingtext, from Jesse G... He somehow divind into the rabbit-warren of node-syntax and callbacks and never came up for air on the experience...
