Greetings to Bangkok, hopefully western so-called "feminism" hasn't eroded your local economy & community life over there yet (well, it's spreading like the plague, so I knock on wood for you all (sic...

From IS 7/8 to iPad, that's quite a downgrade I'd say, but then, I always said iPads were for women, so that fits after all, and the little girl of my neighbors got hers at the age of 6... 6 months I ...
I hadn't thought about the fact that db records are in reference to the db they're in, whilst folders and files are considered "floating", between several computers, of the same person, among persons ...
My remarks above also show the difficulties in switching from a db data set (physical CD collection, etc. where not needed db fields in some subcategories are simply filled with the default "null" val...
Sorry, that would have been \$, not $.
I forgot, in my post immediately above this one, and especially since you mentioned the path length problem: There is no dichotomy "ordering vs. searching", both should go hand in hand, ordering shoul...
Hi jimspoon,
you say, "an ADS is no different from the unnamed $DATA stream when it comes to where it is stored - depending on length it might be resident in the MFT or non-resident. If non-resident ...
Have you read this thread? They talked the EV developer into creating indexed csv metadata tables (it's in the work); with that, EV will become even more valuable, and even today, it's incredibly valu...

I'm sorry to hear about Prof. Kühn's wife; I had looked up the blog in question "regularly", i.e. all some 3 or 4 months, and since every time, the most recent post was from Nov (or Dec?) 2018, I...

Interesting post; not really enlightening; shows that their concept has become quite a mess though, and no wonder they have got conceptual problems, now or even before, since they discarded their firs...

Sorry, that should have been the TB thread, and now is this one: https://www.outlinersoftware.com/topics/viewt/9220/5 - since Firefox lost its tab management add-ins, well...
About (especially "Outliner") subscriptions and the like (NOT OT here, but not at all indeed...)

Doesn't matter, Prion, just don't buy TB, and you will not lose anything. For those who did, though, I've got VERY BAD NEWS.

I see your point, Jon, but then, whenever developers first take 3 times the "usual max" amount (here: around 300 bucks instead of 99 for UR and the like), then even go "subscription", they better shou...

Genetics? I gave the example of a developer who priced accordingly not to color, but to alleged financial power, by the buyer's country, and I said I could accept that as a viable pricing policy. See ...

Well, and of course it's NOT free ("free download", hahahahaha, and again, I fall for such crap...), but 20€ / 50€, but if it's functional, and not a "subscription", for the time being... ...

The basic fault in GTD was the misuse of the term "Context" for "To Do Context" (instead of "Doings"?), "contexts" being the (in case, multiple) contexts in which some "item", some "sub-tree" could ap...

Ok, it's me again: You'd be foolish to buy TB at 20 p.c. off, and even at 80 p.c. off or something.

In Excel, it should also be possible to export from 2 adjacent columns, which would be of interest in order to better intercalate "personalized" text bits into the "standard" ones.

Just wanted to let non-fanpersons know there isn't a "free" version of TB anymore, it's just a not-time-limited trial, crippled to the point of not being usable for anything I could imagine.

And Excel has got an outliner function, i.e. you could normally hide normally-unwanted sub-trees within that "list".
Column 1 = short titles, column 2 = formatted texts, NO word wrap - since you wouldn't want to do more scrolling than absolutely necessary.
