MyInfo Version 7 3/31/2018
P.S. The Milenix website is back online now. I should add that there is a separate forum for the beta version, but you have to be signed up as a beta tester in order to read and contribute to it.
MyInfo Version 7 3/31/2018
The Milenix website is down today -- I have no idea why -- but I can report that Petko is making steady progress on version 7 of MyInfo. His behavior is the same as it's always been: he's exceptionall...
The next UI for CintaNotes 3/1/2018
This is old news by now, but I thought it worth mentioning that Alex Jenter has published a prototype of the future UI for CintaNotes: http://cintanotes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2357&sid=061827c...
RightNote webbooks 12/17/2017
Well, not quite so simple after all. I have been unable to solve the scrolling problem on my iPhone. I consulted Rael Bauer about this, and he suggests that the problem may be connected with Safari --...
RightNote webbooks 12/14/2017
It was like everything else in life: very simple to do once I figured out the procedure. This is what I did: I opened Readdle Documents on my iPhone. From there I went into the Dropbox directory. I f...
RightNote webbooks 12/13/2017
Thanks to both of you. I'll try these methods later today. My general impression of RightNote is the same as it was a few years ago: an extremely powerful program with rather opaque instructions and...
RightNote webbooks 12/12/2017
There was a very interesting discussion of this topic here a couple of years ago, which I have been rereading today because I am now looking at RightNote again. The specific problem I've encountered ...
Tell us about your book 11/28/2017
I have written quite a few books over a long academic career (and now into retirement). As I look back, I realize that I have been looking for the ideal note-taking program since the mid-1980s, when I...
MyInfo news 9/15/2017
P.S. Still another correction: sorry about my poor typing skills this morning. I of course meant to say that Petko's energies are *now* (rather than *not*) focused on version 7.

MyInfo news 9/15/2017
Donovan, if you were to sign up as a beta tester, you would see that MyInfo is alive and well -- but obviously the developer's energies are not mainly devoted to version 7. I too find it frustrating t...
Any Windows users here ? 9/3/2017
I use Windows 10 and 8.1 (the latter on my old backup computer). The note-taking apps I turn to most frequently are OneNote, Evernote, and MyInfo -- and occasionally CintaNotes.
Tagspaces 5/11/2017
An interesting review of TagSpaces here: https://flipboard.com/@flipboard/flip.it%2FUGeKss-go-cloudless-with-tagspaces-a-powerful-/f-d11e08cce3%2Fthenextweb.com
Resoph Notes Replacements? 5/2/2017
As I've remarked recently on another thread, I use CintaNotes heavily for bibliographical references. With its excellent tagging system, I can easily construct a query that says, in effect, "I want to...
CintaNotes 4/29/2017
CintaNotes does allow you to drag and drop text from other programs. Unfortunately, it usually still requires a little reformatting after you do that. But if you're not fussy about the appearance of y...
CintaNotes 4/28/2017
P.S. -- I forgot to add that I now have 3,293 notes in CintaNotes, divided into two notebooks: Bibliography and (Web) Bookmarks.
CintaNotes 4/28/2017
I'm just being my usual indecisive self. I've spent a lot of time in recent months pasting bibliographical entries from various programs into CintaNotes, but I still have a long way to go. And then I ...
RightNote version 4 4/11/2017
No, I haven't used Scrivener, though I read about it with interest. My assessment (from a distance) would be that both Scrivener and MyInfo can perform two important functions -- note-taking and writi...
RightNote version 4 3/28/2017
I agree that Rael's message was not very reassuring, but this is par for the course in dealing with single-developer apps. There is always the possibility that they might go under. The big boys like E...
RightNote version 4 3/28/2017
I haven't decided yet. One unfortunate side-effect of CRIMPing is that I seem to spend far too much money on note-taking apps. And the lifetime license of RightNote is seriously expensive (between $99...
RightNote version 4 3/26/2017
Rael Bauer has just released version 4 of RightNote, and in a long email to users he makes a number of interesting points, including the following: (1) He is introducing a new lifetime license."This ...
note-taker and blogging 1/30/2017
Notecase Pro looks interesting, but I gather that there is no iOS version?
note-taker and blogging 1/29/2017
The main problem I had was that the conversion from Word to Wordpress reduced the font size and screwed up the line endings (i.e., one empty line between paragraphs became two), but, as I said earlier...
note-taker and blogging 1/28/2017
Just a small postscript. I've done some further experiments this afternoon with the OneNote-Word-WordPress technique. I see that I can easily remove text formatting in Word; of course then some of tha...
note-taker and blogging 1/28/2017
Thanks for the suggestions. I had already begun some experiments using the OneNote > Word > Wordpress route. It offers interesting possibilities, but unfortunately the text formatting tends to become ...
