Has to be applauded for advocating outliners to the masses. The auspicious leitmotif in his list is that they’re mostly not subscription/cloud based, so he has good taste/style/sense IMHO. I have used and tried most on his list but actually use none of those anymore. Hope he knows about this little forum, can’t blame him though, most interesting creative & visual outlining/planning tools of recent years, many open source and free, are not discussed even here.

Opening threads here requires time, regular tending & checking, and that’s putting it mildly. Also there are sub areas within outlining, never addressed here ontologically, so depends on which sub genre. I think you like tree based text data models better.

Also general interest here has shifted to sub based cloud ventures during last year, less appetite per ye olde days style offline apps. If I get time this weekend, might post a couple of threads.

I look forward to your thoughts. I think you’re right that many of us are moving to cloud-based apps, just because that’s where the net is going generally, and we have multiple platforms. Maybe we need another environmental scan or two.
