Requires a subscription to Drafts Pro on iOS to sync properly, but works pretty well for me. Currently supports most of the basic features, just not “actions” so it is more of a desktop companion for the iOS app than a full fledged standalone app. (They say future versions will get actions as well.)

This makes Drafts 5 for iOS much more useful for me. To learn about the kinds of things Drafts on iOS can do, be sure to visit the action directory:

Excellent news. Thank you.  The new app for Mac is very useful even without actions.  I like too the quick capture widget and menu bar widget.  Drafts will give Bear, DayOne, Keep It, and others, a run for the money.  The Drafts Pro subscription is proving to be a good investment — nice to see a developer actually deliver on their promise of new value in return for the subscription.

Huge fan of Greg and AgileTortoise in general. Drafts for Mac is a game changer for those of us who love Drafts 5 on iOS but always needed the cross-platform functionality to replace apps like Bear, Keep-It, Notes, etc. Can’t wait for actions and the in-built JavaScript engine to come to Drafts for Mac!

Thank you for the update, Lucas.

I like Drafts 5, and I already have $19.99/year Pro because I use the pro features on iOS—the subscription covers iOS and macOS.  I am not holding my breath to see Actions added to Drafts 5 on macOS.  It it can be done, great, but I suspect it is a very difficult feat to make Actions that work on iOS work the same on macOS.
