RN, as many other softwares, has moved some icons towards moder design. For instance (in WinOS):

..RN up to 4.0x —> Icons of the Editor Toolbar were old style (same kind of the main menu)
..RN above 4.0x—> the icons of the above Toolbar are now modern style and almost 50% bigger.

Unfortunately for users (at least in my limited desktop testing), there seems no option so far to make them smaller, and save - among other things - real estate.

Responsiveness is very important, but is is better done (as it was up to v.4.0x) without eating twice the RAM. In 32bit OSes, RAM is limited!
