A very useful add-on for OneNote (Desktop version) that became more relevant this month as OneNote is moving back to the Desktop version is the OneNote Tagging Kit
https://github.com/WetHat/OnenoteTaggingKit
It leverages the built-in tagging system and simply provides more expressive UI for it. So the applied tags are also visible in the UWP app and mobile apps.
Tags can be applied or removed in bulk to multiple pages, tags can also be used to filter keyword searches or you can browse pages by tags.
The documentation also includes useful information about how to best use tags as an auxilary method of organisation.

Interesting to hear. And I just wish MS could make up its mind about ON. Desktop yes, desktop no, desktop yes. It is as bad as Google with their constant creation, renaming, killing of useful products.
