Outlining in Obsidian

I felt that this plugin deserved its own thread, since it was earlier posted to another discussion where it was a bit off-topic. It seems someone has written an outliner plugin for Obsidian that is designed to make it more like Workflowy/Dynalist/Roam in terms of manipulating lists, including a “zoom” feature.

Here is the plugin code page with instructions and discussion:

https://github.com/vslinko/obsidian-outliner

Right now it can’t handle indenting/outdenting multiple items at once. It is also very keyboard-centric and will need a re-write for the mobile app (also because the plugin architecture is different).

As such I don’t see myself using it right now, but I do look forward to seeing how it develops.

I confess I installed it and then wondered why I’d bothered, since Obsidian’s folding in particular is already quite impressive.

But the idea (especially the ability to outline anything, not just headers, plus the hoisting/zooming) is a good one.
