Someone mentioned Jarte in another post, which made me check out the website again. I see that even the Plus version, once $30, is now free!

I used it briefly back in my Windows days, and thought it pretty handy. But it doesn’t do outliner things.

I used Jarte for a while too. It is a pretty nifty word editor. AND it does do outlines. It has an auto outline setting, which basically turns your document into an outline with automatic line labeling. It doesn’t do folding or hoisting or anything like that, however.

Unfortunately, like Wordpad, it doesn’t seem to support the HTML clipboard format. A pretty major issue as copy / paste from a browser looses formatting / hyperlinks

Good find! I only ever used the basic version so I’ll give the free Pro upgrade a try. I always liked the design of the program, it felt very inviting to write in.

As I wrote in that other topic about Infoselect, I don’t think I ever looked at Jarte before, but I did take a look last night and was rather impressed. My CRIMPing habit has been triggered and I am trialling it.
(The latest version of Jarte Plus is $FREE and seems worth a look as a PIM.)

Others here are ahead of me though and apparently already know its limitations.
