Ok, I’ll say it. I’ll put salt on the elephant’s tail. Some seem content to ignore the bird in the room.

The Brain’s jump thoughts are sheer brilliance. I would use stronger terms if modesty permitted.

A jump thought isn’t a relationship in isolation, nor is it a link with an automatic backlink. It amounts to an anonymous tag with an automatic search.

When you focus on a node, you automatically see it’s jump-links. That’s functionally the same as a tag cloud you didn’t have to name and always appears on demand in context.

‘Course, take what I have to say with a grain of morphine. A quick review of my posting history will show I am unwashed and uneducated. I drive a four wheel drive pickup. None of the bumper stickers on my toilet tank are from Ivy League schools. I like campfire hot dogs cooked in beer cans.

And no matter how depressing my knuckle-dragging introspection, I still think jump thoughts are cool. So cool it takes two syllables to properly express that degree of cool.

Your mileage may vary, which probably says something nice about your character.

Oh, and the bumper stickers on my toilet tank. I don’t want any grief about that. It’s bad enough at home, and I still don’t understand why my wife has to call my mancave bathroom the gas chamber.

I confess I haven’t read 22111’s lengthy posts, nor am I very familiar with The Brain (I much prefer KnowledgeBase Builder), but the jump-thoughts concept certainly appeals to me.
