Thank you so much for making this Pierre, and for putting it out for free.

That said, I have a few criticisms. I realize this is out of favor for almost all software these days, I feel it would be better if on launch, you user were presented with a blank document and could start working right away (it bugs me that even Word needs me to specify that I want a blank document at launch, even if it is only one more mouse click).

My second is that, and I realize this is in an early stage, it could be easier to use. For example, it took me a while to figure out that I needed to create a “New Grid” before I could begin outlining.

But again, it’s awesome that you’re making this and for free and now that I’ve somewhat figured it out, it does seem very usable.

Thank you again.

Hi,

Good points ! The philosophy behind IQ (and mostly the same was true with Ecco) is to use a *single* IQBase and put everything in the same file
So… my main (and only file really) was created > 10 years ago, and I long forgotten what it’s like to start using IQ.

I’ll implement your 2 recommendations in the next release

Thanks !

Hi thank you for making this outliner available. Just trying it out. I can’t get the universal clipper to work. Is it supposed to with the outliner (ie not the full information manager)?
Under Tools options it says that hot key is disabled because there are more than one running instance of IQ ... but I only have one running?
Help appreciated.
But thanks for this .... it reminds me of the old days and Ecco Pro that I loved

Hi Pierre,

A couple of quick download questions.  On the D/L page, I am assuming that v114 is the latest of the original IQ and that IQ Outliner v115a is the new program.  But I am not clear what IQ IM v115a is?  Can you clarify and will the releases be just one stream going forward as opposed to separate naming or and numbering?

Thanks,

—Ken

Hi Ken,

I’ll make it clearer.
For the record:
- InfoQube IM (aka IQ) is the real McCoy
- InfoQube Outliner (aka IQO) is the simplified free version

v115a is the current release for both programs
