Possibly of interest to some:

The Personal Data Librarian? (PDL?) is an innovative tool for managing data independent of its file name, file type or where it is located in your computer or network. It allows you to access items by ?category? wherever it is located. One document, photo or e-mail can be in several different categories.

See it at http://www.lavaplume.com/products/products.html  .

Its an interesting looking program, but it does not appear that you can create your own custom columns.  The price seems a bit high at $99, and the manual seems to date to 2004.  It kind of reminds me of a grander, and somewhat different, version of this program, WhereIsIt? ( http://www.whereisit-soft.com/ ).  Thanks for the link.

Well, I tried to download the free trial, and kept being taken to a wrong page after I filled in the requested data. The page says I don’t have access, and there appears no way around it.

sp I wnet to the “contact us” page and filled out the email form, and there appears to be an error because I am taken to a generic error page.

So if Personal Library wants business they need to fix their site up.

Sorry for the typos.

It should be Personal Data Librarian.  I was in a hurry and annoyed because this is the third site this week I have had to fight with to get what should be easy.

As well, I had PayPal Sandbox not recognize me as a PayPal client, so there is some poor merchant in the UK who doesn’t have any money from me this morning.
