Tinderbox as a task manager?

After seeing a few Kanban type task managers, it occurred to me that Tinderbox could be used in that way. The map view allows boxes to be dragged to container boxes in a sort of Kanban fashion. I continue to be so ignorant of how to use Tinderbox correctly, I would like to find several uses for it that would get me up to speed in its use.

Yes, I have been using it that way for a couple of months.
There are indeed many examples of the Kanban use of Tinderbox in the old forum.
You can even program the Adornments to move the completed tasks way automatically.
But, I ultimately abandoned the system because I get tired of
1) writing a new note for every new task to do.
2) assign a prototype so that the note will appear as a task type
3) finally, assign the dates (start and end, or whatever date you want)
The process is tiresome. It also created a lot of clutter because I have to write a new note for every new task.
I returned to dedicated todo apps.

But, you can write an action to assign the prototypes and due date automatically. That might simplify the steps.

Long-time Tinderbox user here. I do not enjoy using Tinderbox as a "task manager" -- as the place where I collect, organize, edit, and schedule tasks. Tinderbox in this case case is a sink -- we can get information into it, but we cannot get data out of it into calendars. For me, a task planner that doesn't communicate bi-directionally with my calendars is not useful. Other downsides: Tinderbox as a task manager is an island in other ways: it is Mac-only and doesn't have any sort of iOS (or Windows) companion -- not useful since I work on all three environments.
Especially if you are just getting starting with Tinderbox, trying to use it for task planning will drive you to distraction. Tinderbox is a wonderful app -- task planning however is not one of its wonders.
FWIW, I use Droptask for planning -- nicely designed; wonderful integration with Google calendars; Kanban and other views; flexible; operates on Windows, iOS, Mac exactly the same way; integrates with iMindMap when needed.

Remarkably, DropTask was the task manager that I used for the past 6 months or so, but I have fits with its interface. On some machines, the categories and tasks appear as circular venn diagrams, but there is also a kanban type of view as well. What was driving me nuts is figuring out how to use them back and forth. When I was in kanban mode, I couldn't get back to circle mode.

Yes the menus in DropTask need work. If you are in My Planner view (the Kanban-like view), go to the menu and click the name of the project you want to work on. That will give you access to the Canvas and the other views.

Thanks Paul. I'll give that a shot. I also have iMindMap 11, and would like to work with both of them in harmony.
