Last month Alex Jenter released the most recent beta of CintaNotes:

Of the new features, the ability to sort on the "Remarks" field struck me as the most important. He reports that he is also still working on the planned big upgrade, version 4.0.

I continue to find new uses for CintaNotes. What I most admire about it is that it's so severely stripped-down.

I'll give the beta a try (after backing up my stuff) because I find these 2 improvements worthwkile:

* Simplenote sync: Add option to sync every 1 minute
* Simplenote sync: automatically turn on Markdown mode for uploaded new notes

Short update: everything runs smoothly with the beta.

Yes, that's also been my experience. CintaNotes is a fine piece of work; my only complaint about it is that improvements arrive at glacial speed. But that's true also of my other favorite note-taking program, MyInfo, and it apparently is inevitable when you use single-developer software.
