We released the beta for Moo.do’s Mac and Windows apps last week, and now we’re working on a new design for the desktop apps. I would love your feedback on the new design direction.

Also, we just released the new Calendar pane last month, so we now have email, outlining, tasks, and calendar all working together in one app :).

Very nice Jay. The integration with calendar is helpful and makes the outline more powerful.

Will you be introducing multiple pane and other desktop features to iOS. It seems Moo.do best features are mainly constrained to the desktop?

We usually add new features to desktop first, but we will bring them to mobile soon. For multiple panes our current idea is to press and hold on the pane icon to see a history of recent zooms/searches to easily switch. And we're planning to bring the full calendar UI to mobile too (right now it's just the agenda).

Wow, that's pretty damn cool !

*Love* the little bits that leap in and out of view as you start dragging an item (e.g. an e-mail) from one pane to another (e.g. days/times in Calendar pane)

This should actually make scheduling your day genuinely enjoyable! Look forward to trying out the actual app in earnest.

Great ideas, nice implementation (as far as I can tell from a brief scamper around the UI/UX).

Cheers,
Bill

Just one teensy criticism. You can spontaneously click on hashtags to drill down instantly into tagged items, but you can't do the same thing with at-tags (e.g. @today).

If you could, that would make the Calendar view much more flexible (and entertaining). Maybe just activate them in the Calendar view, but not in the others?

Also, I notice that if you change the status of an e-mail to e.g. "NeedsReply", the change isn't automatically propagated to the other panes (e.g. Outline, Calendar).

This really should be changed.

And finally (must get back to work), the "insert link" dialog box in e-mail doesn't vanish if you change your mind. In fact, there doesn't appear to be any way to get rid of it...

... and in fact it's jammed solid, so I've had to exit from the app. But it's just a bug.

It's a bit tragic this nice piece of work doesn't integrate with anything except Google. Are you planning additional integrations, e.g. IMAP? Apple Mail/Reminders/Calendar?

That's very strange! It should close if you hit escape or click anywhere outside of it. What browser/OS are you on? Is this from the compose window or a reply?

We started with Google services as a starting to point to build all our UI. From here we'll definitely explore more integrations. Now that we have native apps, more integrations (like IMAP and iCloud) have become possible.

That's in Safari (latest version) in compose mode.

Excellent news on integration!

Well, I've downloaded and installed Moo.do on my MacBook Pro, and it's brilliant. The whole concept and ease of use: brilliant. I especially LOVE the drag and drop thing, in particular the extraordinarily flexible e-mail management.

But there's a limitation: it only works with Google. Trouble is, there are a whole lot of people (like moi) who don't use Google more than we can possibly help.

I'd be delighted if Moo.do used iCloud, and synced with Apple Mail/Calendar/Reminders.

But alas, it doesn't. Not yet, anyway.

Otherwise, amazing app, amazing idea.
