Ecco on a EEE PC

After using Ecco at work for 15 years, I may be forced to look at alternative options since I received a new machine and no longer have administrative rights.  While my IT folks are looking into the registry hack to see if I can still use the program as a User, I would like to consider alternative options.  I know I can use a laptop, but the small ones are expensive.  Has anybody installed XP in an EEE PC and used Ecco?  The price and performance seem right if it is stable and reliable.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

That is a GREAT idea. A lot of people have run XP on the EEE PC without issues, and it’s certainly powerful enough for Ecco.  I don’t foresee any issues (apart from the SP2 install issue, but you can copy the files over manually if that happens).  Let us know how it works out if you try it.

It is a great idea, but our IT staff were able to get Ecco running on my machine.  I will probably consider this idea again when Asus launches its EEE PC w/XP already installed.
