Franz, what email address did you use when you posted to IdeaMason via gmail?

I cannnot find a regular email address on their site.

Right now with this pointless aggravation, I simply feel like asking them for a refund.

But, of course, I can’t get an email through to them so it wouldn’t do any good anyway.

The official address is customerservice (at) ideamason.com (there is a “E-mail sales” link on the purchase page that launches a Javascript applet opening a new message window in your mail client).

I am in contact with Victoria Miller - her address is vmiller ...

I can understand your point. Not being able to contact them is annoying.

OTOH, Ideamason is a great tool. I wouldn´t want to do without it any more.

Their postal address is:

1802 N. Carson Street Suite 212 Carson City, Nevada, 89701, United States

A click on the verification logo on their purchase site opens a window displaying the address.

Bye, Franz

I was alerted to a problem that a customer of IdeaMason is having that was posted on this forum.

This message is for Daly de Gagne.  Daly, I was alerted to your problem last Saturday by Ken Rhee and responded to your question immediately.  You have emailed us before and we responded.  I am not sure why you are not able to get through to us now.  It sounds as if you do not have a default email client, which would pose a problem since our email link uses the default email client using the mailto: protocol.  We have other customers who use Firefox who seem to have no problems contacting us.  But based on your inability to contact us we immediately posted our email address on our website.  In the past we only posted a link to our email addresss so as to avoid machine spammers from using and abusing the address. If you go to the site now you should see the email address as well as the link.

Problem with IdeaMason:
You described a problem with being unable to add an Idea to a Project.  In my response last Saturday I explained that Ideas can only be added to Activities, which are sub-groups of Projects. Items cannot be added directly to a project itself. Items are only in projects by way of being in the activities a project contains.

You can add a project to the Project/Activity drop down box within a Dashboard – but you won’t be able to add the item to the Project itself.  You have to then add an activity to the project.  Just right click on the Project name and select “New Activity”.  Once you do this you will see the activity with an empty check box.  To add the item, just check the box next to the activity.

I am not sure if that answers the question you have.  If it doesn’t just email me back.  You can contact me directly at vmiller@ideamason.com or at customerservice@ideamason.com.

IdeaMason has not experienced any problems with sending or receiving email recently.  Franz Greizer had some problems sending us mail from Germany and we believe that most of these problems resulted in a document that he was trying to send us being blocked.  Once Franz compressed the file we were able to receive the document without problems.  We are not aware of any other email issues outside of this problem.

It is certainly not our intent to ignore customers and I want to thank those of you on this site who have alerted us to Daly’s inability to contact us both last weekend and today.

I’m sorry—I missed seeing your post then.

My default email client is Thunderbird.

What I couldn’t understand was why when I clicked on the email link that IE opened up about 18 browser windows.

Thank you for that—I appreciate that.

I understand and will try that. Somehow I had missed that distinction in the help file.

But it raises a question: What if you have only the project, and aren’t at the activity stage yet—you’re simply brainstorming?  Would you then have an activity you might call brainstorming to which ideas could be added?

Thanks again, Victoria, I appreciate you responsiveness.

And thanks to Ken and to anyone else who passed word on to Victoria.

Hi Daly,

I am glad that we have finally made contact.  I would have posted a reply on this forum earlier but only assumed that our email response to your question last Saturday was received.  I used the email address that we had on file for you.  I was only aware that you had still not heard from us when Franz alerted us yesterday.

>My default email client is Thunderbird. What I couldn’t understand was why when I clicked on the
>email link that IE opened up about 18 browser windows.

I am not familiar with Thunderbird but I believe IE was simply in a trial and error process of attempting to open and connect to the default email client.  Have you tried contacting anyone or any other business using a mailto: link?
Based on your situation we decided to re-institute our old case management system as a backup to our mailto: link and email address.  So if anyone does experience difficulty reaching us using the mailto: link you can still get through to us using our adminstration system.  You just need to fill our a customer support form and submit it.  This information is now posted under our contact information on the support page on the IdeaMason website.

Can you please try contacting us today using either our email address or our support form found at http://www.ideamason.com/support/support.htm.  I want to make sure that you are now able to get through to us.  I will monitor this forum today as a backup until we establish contact outside.
>But it raises a question:
>What if you have only the project, and aren’t at the activity stage yet—you’re simply
>brainstorming?  Would you then have an activity you might call brainstorming to which

> I think your idea to call an Activity “Brainstorming” while you are in that stage is a great idea.  You can rename an Activity or Project at any time so once you have moved out of the brainstorming stage you can rename the Activity to something more permanent.

I sure hope we can establish contact today outside of this forum.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Victoria - IdeaMason.com
