Interesting. Microsoft has just released a small utility program that converts Evernote notebooks to OneNote format:

I’ve used OneNote Batch for that purpose but haven’t had a chance yet to try out this new Microsoft program (which is described as “preview”).

Thanks for the update @WSP.

Personally not going to expect much from Microsoft on this.  I use the OneNote clipping extension on Safari on a Mac.  Clipping an article in Evernote takes less than 10 seconds.  The same article clipped with the OneNote clipper takes about 3 minutes.  Then, when I look into the OneNote client (or OneNote on line) for maybe another 30 minutes the client reports “This page was added from another client that hasn’t finished syncing”.

At this rate it would take the Evernote-to-OneNote conversion tool oh, about, 1,700 hours to finish my library.

Speaking of the clipper I believe it still clips only to the online / Onedrive. (You can’t clip straight to your notebook on your local drive).  Also the clips are often screenshots.  Having a screenshot option is fine but when I clip text or text+pictures I’d prefer to get text for the text parts.

I like Onenote a lot but the clipper - not so much.

Again, I have no personal experience with this MS tool, but with OneNote Batch I was able to import thousands of Evernote notes in just a few minutes.

For whatever it’s worth . . . further signs of upheaval at Evernote headquarters:
