yes you are correct,
Marbux.

actually i just discovered
even some more software
that supports cloning:

__________

WINDOWS
__________

- Keynote NF (https://sourceforge.net/projects/keynote-newfeat/) called nicely “insert mirror note” :-)

- LexiCan (https://lexican.net/)

- Compendium (http://www.compendiumng.org/screenshots/) + here http://www.graphic.org/images/compendium-startup.jpg

- Silver Note (http://silver-note.com/)

and which Silver Note seems to have received an upgrade
since last time i tried it years ago,
it supports “cloning” via its hierarchical categories/tags tree!
just enable the left side panel by just pressing F1,
and then press F2 too for the right side panel.

you can do also a so called “drill through”
by making ANY SHAPE or TEXT or TABLE CELL a separate note
by just selecting its text and then CTRL+double clicking on it
which creates thus INSTANTLY a sub note and drill through into it!!

so that you are only a double click away
from your cloned range of possibilities!

Silver Note is quite a nice little software!

__________

MAC + LINUX
__________

Very much in error. Org-Mode also does cloning.
