I just rebooted because that sometimes helpes.

But it didn’t.

I think until I get some solid assurance this isn;t some kind of malware it’s coming off my computer.

Once can never be too paranoid.

Apparently this program isn’t designed to come off of computers.

For one thing, it does not show up in programs and features for being removed.

For another thing, it does not show up in the task manager.

And for a third thing, it does not provide on its own context menu the option to uninstall it.

So not only have I wasted more than an hour with a program which was made to sound like the holy grail of information processing, I have a mess of software on my computer which seems impervious to removal, has already slowed down my computer, and will likely require more of time before it is vanquished.

If I sound angry it is because I am profoundly pissed. I have never had this kind of experience with a new program.

Perhaps my first clue should have been when one of my security programs warned me against the kind of extractor file used by the developer. I chose to over-ride that warning.

I ran it through virustotal and the none of the 40 virus scanners report any problem with the exe file.  so maybe there is some assurance in that.
