Sorry Paul, sorry! But I’ve just found Letterspace, a rather nice outliner that uses two different forms of tagging (hashtags and @) AND syncs across Mac and iOS. Very pleasant to use, and even better, GitHub-compatible (so can be used for task lists). On the Mac, appears as a three-pane outliner, on iPad as a two-pane outliner, on an iPhone (and iPad in one mode) as a one-pane outliner. Well, I say outliner – it doesn’t fold text inside notes, so I should really call it a Markdown notebook like e.g. Ulysses or Metanota Pro.

The Mac version is free of charge, unless you decide you want to invest in a theme or two.

So: more CRIMPing for you!

Cheers,
Bill

It’s a nice piece of software. The one weakness I can descry lies in the mixing of tags.

Although you’ve got two different types of tag (# and @), you don’t appear to be able to use them to apply double filters (e.g. [1] create a list of items tagged #todo, then [2] filter them to show only those items tagged @now). That would be the most obvious application of the dual-tagging capability. Without this filtering feature, you might as well just have a single list of tags.

I shall keep experimenting in case I’ve not spotted something, but I fear this (fairly obvious) feature is missing. Maybe the developer is planning to introduce it soon? Time to reach out!

Cheers,
Bill
