Shoot, that first URL captured the following comma. It should be http://blog.workflowy.com/2015/01/27/workflowy-is-for-thinking/

It isn’t easy to learn anything about Workflowy. No matter what page you land on at their website you only get a login form. No other links on any page until after you log in, apparently.

I know that many sing their praises, but the way they handle their website isn’t very encouraging. At least not enough to make me want to go through anything further to find out.

I agree. Workflowy site is too minimalistic, and not as helpful as it could be with more - words!

As a user of Workflowy there’s times I want to see the site, and not see my outline. There’s not an obvious easy way of doing that.

Nonetheless an amazing product which comes the closest to the outlining ideal (the 2 exceptions being lack of columns & ability to have more than 1 window open).

Can’t you just open two or more browser tabs with different views of the outline or two or more browser windows and display them side-by-side?

If you’re using Firefox, the Tile Tabs ad-on is fantastic for this. You can split the Firefox window and can have multiple panes with different sections of the WorkFlowy outline installed. Very easy to deploy: just right-click in FF and choose where you want the split window to be displayed (left, right, up, down and more):
