I am running Windows 8 and the program crashes at startup, whether or not I run in single-user mode.
The bug is known, it appears here
http://goozzee.sourceforge.net/news.html

Looks like the same problem is there in Windows 7.

Thanks for the info Gianni !

I had tested on Win7, and the upcoming Win 10, but not on Win 8.

I’m working hard to fix this problem. But unfortunately, it’s going to take a long time : fixing this bug implies reviewing all the communication between the main program and the database plugin. That’s a huge work.

Did you try to install release 0.13.5 ? It might work on WIn8… It worked for me on Win7 and Win10.

Regards,
Michel

Hi Bob,

This is really weird : I just tested it again on my Win7, and it works !

The first time you run it and try to connect to the “default” database, it asks you if you want to create a new database. Did you reach that point ?
If you did, it could be some access right problem, when creating the goozzee.docs directory in your home directory..
Otherwise,  I really don’t understand what could be wrong…

I’m working very hard to have release 1.2 ready ASAP.
I hope this will fix all the possible issues….

Sorry for the inconvenience !

Kind regards,
Michel.

I do get the initial screen, with default pre-chosen, but when I click “OK” it thinks for a few seconds and then freezes. I’ve tried clicking the pencil icon and modifying some of the settings, even attempted to create a new database, but nothing seems to work. It could very well be a quirk with my system, if you’re able to get it working on yours.
