ndxCards, MI, WhizFolders, Biblioscape Thoughts

I just asked ndxCards on the forum there for a roadmap or vision statement, and was pleased with the results.

For example, they are committed to continuing development of the outliner and—Stephen Diamond, here this—you were anonymously quoted as having emphasized how important a hoist mechanism is. This is good. I recently posted to MyInfo asking about a hoist for version 4, and was told it was too difficult, but if enough people posted asking for it they would reconsider.

But something I read here in a post the other day is making me wonder about the applicability of ndxCards as a storage place for data. I have always thought of it in terms of application for “applied” use, ie for a project such as a paper, or book. But I wonder how many people use it as a storage depot, an archive.

And given Graham’s glowing references to WhizFolders over the last while, I wonder how WhizFolders and ndxCards stack up against each other, recognizing that their is not a complete overlap of funcctions.

And while I am wondering, though we had a lot of talk about IdeaMason’s latest version (and some disillusionment, if I recall), I haven’t seen anything on the latest version of Biblioscape—anyone here using it? How does it compare? I know the notes feature was really beefed up.

Cheers,

Daly

Daly,

Where does one access the ndxCards forum? I couldn’t find it on their web site. Perhaps I am blind. Thanks.

Hi Steve,

The url is http://www.ndxcards.com/support/forum/default.asp

To get there more intuitively, choose “Suporr.” Then click on the minute word “Forum.” Easy to miss.
