Nook tablets - bit of a bargain

I know this isn’t exactly on-topic, but Barnes & Noble are currently selling off their Nook stock at ridiculously low prices.

I’ve just acquired a Nook HD for a nominal sum, and it’s a very tidy little tablet. A quick USD 10 dollars later, and I was also the proud possessor of N2A’s Android for Nook software, which loads onto an SD card and turns your Nook into the very latest dual-booting Jelly Bean trendy thing.

The Nook doesn’t have any cameras, but does have good battery life and by far the best hi-res screen on any small tablet. The awesome Full HD screen on the 9” HD+ is even better; and that’s going for silly money, too (GBP 150 for the 16GB one - I’m sorely tempted! It’s like an ultra-cheap iPad 4, albeit without the camera). They’re also pretty nippy, and with Google Play on board, the world of apps is your lobster.

Anybody who wants to experiment with outliners and cross-platform apps on Android might want to take a look… (see how I neatly segued back into forum-relevant guff?)

Cheers,
Bill
