Word template outliner?

There used to be a outlining tool for Microsoft Word that was a Word template. As I recall, it was somewhat expensive, and I never really looked at it. My company now forbids the use of unauthorized software on their computers, so I can’t use my regular outliner, NoteMap, on the job. I figure a Word template however will be OK. Does anybody have any info about this Word template outliner?

Word, of course, has a built-in outliner of sorts. I don’t recall a pay-for add-in, but there was a free item. Problem was that every time MS changed the Word macro language, the free add-in would no longer work. I downloaded it once. If I find it, I’ll post the info.

I don’t know of any such add-on, and I’m a fairly avid user of Word, outliners, and Word ad-ons. Still, I could have missed it, but my guess is you’re thinking of ‘Pocket Thinker,’ which provides outlining in Outlook notes. Maybe not, since it costs only about $15.

You are probably refering to Bernard DeKoven’s so-called Technography Template. It’s probably still available directly from the author (as I recall I paid via a PayPal account he sent me). Last time I checked the price remained the original $100.
The template doesn’t offer really any additional functionality but it is well designed for brainstorming and organising; Technography was a way to facilitate group interaction with a computer and this was this template’s aim. It was developed in the 90s and I personally find it quite outdated nowadays. Unfortunately there is no trial version.
I would suggest that you invest in an outliner such as Brainstorm that can run from a USB flash disk. Brainstorm in particular provides a special Word macro for easily transforming its text-only outlines into nice looking documents that maintain the hierarchical organisation (up to 9 levels, as is Word’s limitation). You should have no trouble installing the macro in your office,
