After doing demos of about 13 zillion PIMs, organizers, and other software critters, I have decided to buy Info Select, which I have not used for a number of years.  One of the concerns is that it does not have a functioning forum,  The yahoo IS forum seems to have been abandoned by its owner.  The owner does not answer mail, thus one cannot “join” the forum.  MicroLogic does not own the forum.  The last post is a piece of spam.  http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/InfoSelect/messages/

I understand that a few folks here are members of that forum.  I’m wondering if it is possible for one of you who is a member, to contact yahoo groups and see if they will give ownership to someone else.  Of course, that would require someone to volunteer, but perhaps at least a discussion in the forum might result.

If anyone has any other ideas in that regard, please advise.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, it is true that the Yahoo IS forum in not that active anymore and I really regret this. However, your decision to purchase IS 2007 was a good one & I would even encourage you to purchase IS 10. It will provide peace of mind, since IS 10 works on Win 7. However, if you use IS 10, your IS file is being coverted to .wd3 format which means you cannot revert back to IS 2007. I have soon after my purchase of IS 2007 upgraded to IS 10. The early versions were a bit buggy and crashed now and then (even on XP). On Win 7, the file save did not always work. In the meantime, however, Miclog have released new versions of IS 10 and those bugs have been fixed. IS 10 now works perfect on both, XP & Win7 (64 bit). I use IS 10 for all information storage purposes and am very satisfied. There is no offline helpfile but you can download the online one using HTTrack. So, I suggest you do not worry about the near dead IS forum and about the overhyped EN ransomware. Just stick to the trusty IS (keeping in mind how long they are one the market…). Let us enjoy our superiour outliner. I would like to close that it really is a pity Miclog do not actively market their outliner. Whilst the one time purchasing price is considerable, I think it is worthwile. Also, as IS works on Win 7, we can assume it will work on Win 8, too. This means we can enjoy IS for many more years to come.
