I’ve added an RSS feed for the latest 20 forum posts. This also allows a way to get email notifications when new messages are posted by using one of the following free RSS-to-email services:

http://www.rssfwd.com

Chris,

Would it be possible to have a real sender of a message under the ‘From:’ header instead of ‘Chris Murtland webmaster etc’?

Thanks,

Wojciech

Wojciech,

The RSS feed file format has one header where that information comes from - each individual post does not have a from field. There is an “author” field that can be associated with each item (post), but this is really for the email address of the author, and I’d prefer not to expose any member email addresses.

Once I get to the point where you can get email notifications directly from the site rather than just through RSS, I could add the poster’s information to the From header - but I’m not sure even that is a great idea because many people may not want anyone to contact them through their email address.

Chris,

Thanks for your explanation.

Yes, sure, I understand. What I meant was the possibility to see the name displayed on a given post - and not real name or email address - rather than always yours.

Hmm, the poster’s name or nickname should appear after the post title in each post. What feed reader software are you using, or are you using the “forum posts via email” feature?
