I am considering Ultra Recall as well, but I thought I would first start with MyInfo.  The feature that I am currently looking for is user-definable columns for tasks.  Ecco does this quite well, and I plan to continue using Ecco.  I do, however, need a portable task manager and the four up for consideration are MyInfo, do-Organizer, Zoot and UR.

MyInfo’s web site is a bit confusing because the FAQ I quoted above talks about USB, but a forum posting from the author indicates that it is a feature to be implemented in the next release.  Is anybody successfully using MyInfo on a USB, expecially on machines without Admin. rights?

Thanks,

—Ken

There is a newer Ecco Yahoo Group forum (ecco_pro rather than eccopro), and someone there has put together a way to run Ecco from a USB drive. I didn’t follow the discussion closely, but that may be worth looking into if you’d prefer to stick with Ecco.

I am familiar with the Ecco installation on the USB drive, but, IIRC, this is predicated on the host machine granting Admin. rights.  This is fine on my home and work machines, but I am not certain about if I travel and use another machine.  I do not want to assume that I will have these rights.

With eccoext, you can run ecco on USB even if you have no admin rights. please check it in yahoo ecco_pro groups.

Thank you for pointing out this program.  I will take a look at it.
